Community Volunteers

Liverpool Lighthouse (LLH) is a place to support positive mental health and wellbeing. It’s a space for community members to find rest from anxiety and to get help with practical challenges. It’s a place for people with mental health difficulties to find a space where they can be heard and someone cares. A place of safety is a space where asylum seekers and refugees are free from fear of discrimination and persecution and feel welcomed and loved, delivering on the promise of Liverpool as a City of Sanctuary. A place of safety also means a space for artists and community members to explore and experiment with creative ideas without fear of judgement or failure.

We are searching for kind and reliable volunteers to join us at Liverpool Lighthouse.

RETIRED FOLK/ PEOPLE WITH TIME TO HELP

Volunteering at Liverpool Lighthouse is a great way for retired people and others who have time available to help to connect with others and give back to their community. Your lifetime of skills will be valued and appreciated as a volunteer here with us. Our volunteers make all the work we do possible.

You may be able to help at our community drop-in, pantry or community meals, as a mentor for a struggling family or a friendly face to chat with someone struggling with loneliness and isolation. Maybe you don't need the stress of a job but want to keep your brain and body active and can help out on our maintenance, events or fundraising teams. Maybe you want to support the local community through volunteering at the community cinema coming soon.

Whatever you can offer and whatever you would like to get out of volunteering, Liverpool Lighthouse would love to chat with you.

PEOPLE LOOKING FOR WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Been out of the workplace for a while?

  • Recently finished school or college and struggling to find that first role?

  • Maybe your health isn't great but you want to keep those workplace skills fresh for when things improve?

  • Don't yet have the legal right to work in the UK but want a role that will prepare you for work once your status changes?

Here at Liverpool Lighthouse we are passionate about supporting you to meet your dreams and ambitions, wherever you are starting from and we can offer volunteer roles that provide real experience, support, flexibility and mentoring to help you get ready to work.

As well as gaining vital experience to help you on the path to your work goals, volunteering at Liverpool Lighthouse will build your wellbeing and provide access to practical support to help you on your journey, including access to our fresh food pantry and mental health support.
