Volunteer Opportunities at Liverpool Lighthouse

Updated: Oct 24, 2022

Liverpool Lighthouse is an arts and community centre in North Liverpool. Our aim is to promote wellbeing through creativity for our local community and disadvantaged groups, to support artists from underrepresented backgrounds in the arts and to bring artistic and cultural experiences to the underserved North Liverpool communities.

Volunteer roles available now at the Liverpool Lighthouse in youthwork, community, venue, marketing, music production and more.

We have roles available for people in all ages and situations, whether you want to keep active and use your lifetime of skills for the benefit of the community or get ready for the workplace and gain experience in a supportive environment. Whatever your reasons for getting involved you will enjoy knowing you are making a positive impact.

As a volunteer for our community programme, you may be able to help at our community drop-in, pantry or community meals, as a mentor for a struggling family, or a friendly face to chat with someone struggling with loneliness and isolation.

As a volunteer for our venue team, including our upcoming community cinema you could get involved in technical, maintenance, ushering, box office or fundraising teams.

As a youth volunteer you will be supporting our creative-led youth programme, that aims to build wellbeing for young people through developing skills, self-esteem and confidence.

Volunteering at Liverpool Lighthouse means becoming part of a community where your wellbeing is taken seriously. We will work with you to understand your goals for volunteering and provide the support you need to achieve them, whether that is mentoring and training to grow your skills, or connection to a community, or the wellbeing that comes from giving something back.

We will also support you practically when you need it, you will be able to share our community meals and receive expenses to cover your travel and food.

Reasons to volunteer with us:

· You want to work for a diverse-led arts organisation that champions creativity for all

· You are looking to gain work experience

· You want support to get back to work

· You are a student looking for a chance to put theory into practice

· You don't yet have the legal right to work in the UK but want a role that will prepare you for work once your status changes

Whatever you can offer and whatever you would like to get out of volunteering, Liverpool Lighthouse would love to chat with you.
