Our Creative Influencers were among the presenters at ReCITE's Festival of Learning on 18th June, coming away with an award for connecting community and healthcare.
The festival brought together residents, voluntary organisations, NHS partners, researchers, the public sector and creative practitioners, all working to understand the same question: why people in some Liverpool neighbourhoods live shorter, less healthy lives than those just a few miles away, and what the communities themselves can do about it.
Our Creative Influencers presented the work they've been doing with local families to raise awareness of the whooping cough vaccine in pregnancy. Whooping cough can be serious, and potentially life-threatening, for newborn babies, with the vaccine offered during pregnancy one of the best ways to protect them. The work of the Creative Influencers and Liverpool Lighthouse – and all ReCITE partnerships – aims to develop trust, improve access to services and develop realistic local solutions.
The Liverpool Lighthouse project was one of several featured on the day, alongside work on lung cancer awareness, men's mental health, epilepsy, Type 2 diabetes, and access to trusted health information for migrant and refugee communities.
We are delighted to have received this award, a significant recognition for the Creative Influencers and for the impact their work is making within the local community.
Congratulations to everyone involved!
