One of Liverpool Lighthouse’s projects, City Sings Gospel, is spearheading an Amazing Grace Festival 2007, backed by Liverpool City Council and the Capital of Culture, to mark both the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade and the 800th birthday of the city.

 Liverpool Lighthouse is the first performance and arts venue in Europe to specialise in the heritage and on-going legacy of Gospel Music as an all-embracing art form. Gospel Events are held in the venue and across Liverpool.
Liverpool Lighthouse is proud to be partnering with the Liverpool Culture Company to host an international festival of Gospel Music in the city of Liverpool in 2008 called City Sings Gospel.
