Transatlantic Memorial Service Testimonials
Thank you for inviting me to the wonderful 'Transatlantic Commemoration Service' on board HMS Albion.
It was a fantastic event - one I won't forget for a long time. It was such a mix of emotion - laughter and sadness all rolled into one. The Love and Joy Gospel Choir were certainly on form. There were so many high spots although the Equiano extract backed by the Adventist Vocal Ensemble had me in pieces. It was so well organised. Well done - a resounding success - a thought provoking celebration - truly remarkable.

I felt humbled and privileged to take part in a service which was at the same time moving, challenging and encouraging, great care having gone into the content of the words and the symbolism of the actions, as well as drawing people together from Africa, the Caribbean, the USA and from the UK. God in his goodness indeed shone on those who gathered aboard HMS Albion.

Many thanks on behalf of my wife Jean and I for the invitation to a very special service yesterday - it was both reflective and hopeful and will have given many 'food for thought' on what they should now do individually and through their organisations. Well done to all those involved!!

Can I first of all thank you most sincerely for inviting my wife Hillary and myself to the Transatlantic Memorial Service. We were very privileged indeed to be amongst the audience and friends of your organisation and to take part in this important service.
We must congratulate you and your team for the most wonderful event. We know that an enormous amount of effort must have gone into the planning and everything went without the slightest hitch. You were even blessed by the weather. There was a lot of attention to detail from the bus which took us to the dock to being on board such a prestigious and imposing vessel for the event. The music, the speeches, the dance, the prayer all went to make a moving yet warming ceremony. It is a credit to you that so many important dignitaries attended and they must think very highly of you and your organisation.
Many thanks once again for a wonderful afternoon which we both enjoyed.

Waterfront Gospel Music Concert
The Albert Dock Company was delighted to work with the Waterfront Festival to deliver a fantastic programme of activity at the Albert Dock on the 16th June. It was good to see so many people dancing at the Dock and being entertained by your great artists. The event generated a new audience for the Dock and was a great occasion to celebrate on the waterfront.

The waterfront event for us was a refreshing experience in that it was something new and we believe that many lives were touched. To be honest, I counted it a privilege to be involved at all. As well as this I think it was a good thing for Liverpool and the Northwest in general.
I'm looking forward to the next similar event.

Many thanks for a great afternoon at the Albert Dock - we travelled over from West Yorkshire and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The Waterfront Gospel Music Festival was truly an amazing experience for Riversongz, the fact that the great music that we love and share was appreciated by so many people in Liverpool was a great encouragement and we look forward to next year.

The event was a great success. I think the variety of artists and styles was great and it was good to combine homegrown talent with American artists. I thought the standard of all artists was amazing.
My sister came with us, it was her 75th birthday and she had a wonderful time. It was encouraging to see every age group from toddler to 75 year old enjoying the music and the presence of God and also to see different races and faces united in praise.
Liverpool Lighthouse is an excellent venue, it was helpful being able to buy hot and cold drinks before the event and during the interval.
All the staff were helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome and at home.
A huge thank you and well done to all who contributed to the success of the evening.
We will certainly encourage people to check out your events.

Walden Media’s Amazing Grace Advanced Screening February 2007
Such a challenging and descriptive account of the life of William Wilberforce, revealing the opposition and struggles he faced before the 1807 Abolition of the Slave Trade. This is not just a date for the history books, but the triumph of vision and determination under the banner of "Amazing Grace".
Jo Wylie – Liverpool Cathedral
It was, indeed, a memorable evening. Also, having attended the Roscoe lecture a few nights ago, David Alton referred to Amazing Grace in his speech and recommended that all the attendees go to see it when it comes out on general release. Thank you for a moving evening.

Shocking, powerful and thought provoking stuff.
Using the medium of film as a tool to get the message across allows access to a wider audience.
A demonstration of what happens when people come together and are willing to stand up and be counted and continually fight to stop injustice against all odds.

Liverpool Lighthouse is an extraordinary social experiment in the heart of one of the poorest wards in the city. It offers, in its vision as a Christian organisation, to make a difference in its community, a range of community related social enterprise projects such as the ESOL and Basic Skills courses, the Skills for Work programme and the incubation and other support initiatives that help the art industries. All this is coupled with an energetic and community spirited Christian community that has acted as a magnet drawing people into the community, in one of the socially disinherited sections of our city. It has excellent facilities and has made excellent use of the large building in which it is located.
This university has been privileged to be linked with this community and has benefited from its strong leadership and community spiritedness.
