Harmonize Youth Connect
Harmonize Youth Connect is a performing arts-based Alternative Education Provision for young people aged 13 -16 years, enhanced and complemented with weekend and evening engagement activities for 13 -18 year olds.
This full time educational programme with optional evening and weekend sessions, provides a rich and varied curriculum for school years 9, 10 and 11 which combines urban arts, core skills and personal development.
Urban arts cover many street-based art forms that appeal to young people, such as dance, drama, rap, dj-ing, singing and graffiti art. Harmonize combines these arts with IT, literacy and numeracy and functional skills whilst using personal development and pastoral support to address issues and help the young people to really engage in education.
For the older participants, the programme also provides GCSE and GCSE-equivalent qualifications and opportunities for work experience. Each term ends with a full performance by the students in our main auditorium.
Young people may attend the educational programme full-time or on a more flexible programme where some days are spent in their mainstream school.
Weekend and evening activities are open to young people whether or not they attend the educational provision. Click here to see what’s on.
